Make sure your dog is standing and measure (using a soft tape measure) Not a piece of string, wool etc.
Size A - Very base of neck, where it joins the shoulder blades to base of tail (This is the length of coat and the one our prices are based on for all dog EXCEPT hounds)
Your dog needs to be standing. If your dog carries tail up when walking you need to hold the tail gently up when measuring to make sure you do not over measure the length. Easier to do with 2 people.
Size B - Neck at the very base of neck (Not too tight!)
Size C - Chest (Behind the front legs)
Size D - Girth (around the middle of your dog) This is at the end of the rib cage, if you insert a finger between tape measure and dog on the underneath side it will stop the tape measure from sliding backwards into the very narrow section.

Size F - For hounds only. - This is the length of the coat and the one our prices are based on.
We like measurements in inches (we're a bit old fashioned that way!) but it's OK If you prefer to measure in centimetres as we can work from those.

Worried about your measurements?
When we get your measurements we will always double check against what we would normally expect for the breed and may ask you to double check anything unexpected. Sometimes for mixed breeds a photo can help too.
If when you receive your coat, you find that you have made a mistake in measuring, don't worry, we will remake it. We do ask you to return the original coat in good condition and for a £10 payment towards material cost and postage we will make you a replacement coat.
Of course, if we get it wrong, we will replace the coat at no cost to you.
